August Boca Knights Bugle – Welcome

Bugle News Featured

As we approach the close of the “dog days of Summer” it is still hot and humid here in South East Florida. The kids will soon be returning to school and we are approaching the height of the Hurricane Season.

Now is time to get out those Emergency Preparedness Lists and begin to “stock-up”, if we have not already done so. In addition to our physical health and material needs, let’s not forget to tend to our spiritual needs and wellbeing. In addition to Sunday Mass devotion, we have the Feast of Assumption of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God on August 15th, a Holy Day of Obligation.

Coincidently, the Silver Rose will be visiting St Joan of Arc on August 15th. See page 2 for important details on the visit.

Less we forget, we have an important State wide vote this Fall—Amendment 4.. I urge each of you to review page 7 of the “Bugle” and commit to vote “NO” on Florida’s Pro-Abortion Amendment. This holds whether you’re voting early or on November 5th. This is too important to ignore! Life begins at conception and abortion in addition to being irreversible is the taking of a life.

We have had a few recent installations. St Jude hosted our Assembly on July 6th and their Council on the 13th. St John the Evangelist conducted their installation on the 28th. Upcoming installations are Our Lady of Lourdes on August 17th and St Joan of Arc on September 14th. The Ascension date is pending.. See pages 9 & 10 for new officers.

We are still looking for a few Good Sir Knights to join our Honor Guard.

We are also looking for 3rd Degree Council Brothers to step up and join the ranks of “the few, the proud, and the brave”. 4th Degree Exemplifications are in the works. Tentatively there is one more this year scheduled on August 25th at San Juan Del Rio Church, St Johns (Switzerland), FL

Closer to home, SK Terry Kollman, our newest Sir Knight and new Assembly Pilot is “spear-heading” the Assembly and Council efforts to support “Suitcases for Ukraine. See page 8 for information. The people of Ukraine need our help. If not you, then who?

Finally, I encourage each Council to send at least one representative to the Assembly General Meetings (typically the 3rd Monday of the month).

Vivat Jesus:
